SLC disbursement is a payment from the Student Loans Company (SLC) to help with tuition finance such as fees and living costs of being at University. It is a form of student finance that is paid into the bank account details of the student.

The SLC is responsible for handling loans for students that need financial assistance

Mainly, students can get two different loans: tuition fee loans and maintenance loans.

The tuition fee loans are paid directly to the school or university the student is attending at regular intervals.

The disbursement dates will be confirmed once the finance is agreed upon. There are four different types of SLC disbursements given out during the academic year, depending on where the student lives and the course they take

What are SLC Disbursements?

SLC disbursement refers to the process of receiving your Student Loans Company (SLC) payment in the UK.

The Student Loans Company is a non-profit, government-owned organisation responsible for administering loans and grants to students in colleges and universities in the UK.

Students can receive two main types of loans: tuition fee loans and maintenance loans.SLC disbursements are usually paid directly into the student’s bank account, often in three instalments to help with budgeting.

Tuition fee loans are paid directly to the university.

The amount of money released depends on the type of student loan taken out.

SLC disbursements may be subject to reassessment, which could result in a backdated payment if the student is owed money.

If a student has concerns about their disbursement, they can contact Student Finance England for assistance.
